The Faculty of Social Science encompasses a broad range of disciplines from law to history to public administration. The promotion of social sciences, as intellectually rigorous and also relevant in the future growth of Cambodia, is a key aim for the faculty.
Notably, this faculty provides a framework within which students may explore different approaches to law using interdisciplinary resources; these are applied in local, as well as international and comparative, perspectives.
In order to response the need of society, this faculty aims to build the capacity of students to analyze organizational behavior and provide technical responses in both the public and private sector. Thus, a Bachelor of Arts in this faculty degree opens up many career opportunities in government, the mass media, and NGOs which require critical thinking, research and an understanding of contemporary society.
As in all other faculties, the Faculty of Social Science is committed to achieving international parity in the content and standard of its courses. However, in subjects such as law, political science and history, students have the opportunity to embrace uniquely Cambodian content. In this faculty it is especially important to ground knowledge in global theory and practice, while providing a national perspective.
The Faculty of Social Science strives to equip students with critical thinking skills with which to engage in research and study. Students graduate with a strong educational foundation, from which they are able to pursue a wide range of career choices.
